Yanmar 6LYA-STP
The Power Behind Stella Blue
The Yanmar 370 has been a popular choice for
power in the single engine version of this boat. Yanmar
has enjoyed a great reputation in auxiluary power in sail boats.
We had a 27 year old Yanmar in our last sailboat that just ran
great all the time, so we were quite happy that this boat had Yanmar
power.
The Yanmar 370 HP is one
version of the 6LY family. It is the same engine as the 350 HP
6LYA-STE, just rated differently. The Yanmar engine codes for these
engines goes like this:

of mainship yachts." This information is not any guarantee of any
performance but is interesting to look at.
Keep in mind, these tests were done on a lightly loaded boat
