Napatree
This sandy spit separates Watch Hill's Little Narragansett Bay from the ocean. The bay side is a very popular anchorage on summer weekends. Napatree's conservation area is a haven for nature lovers with its breathtaking ocean views and is a favorite of hikers and birdwatchers. This area is one of the most important migratory bird stopover points on the East Coast and provides a year-round habitat for a variety of species. The ruins of Fort Mansfield built during the Spanish American War offer an opportunity to explore as well as excellent fishing from the rocky shore. Napatree Point is accessible from two paved parking lots on Bay Street in Watch Hill

Another National Historic landmark, the Watch Hill merry-go-round was built by the Charles W.F. Dare Co., of New York, around 1867. Its 20 horses are suspended from a center frame and they swing out when in motion - the only flying horse carousel in existence in this country. Each horse is hand carved from a single piece of wood and embellished with a real tail and mane, leather saddle and agate eyes. $1 per ride.
